Volcano Hybrid Review
Hybrid vs Classic: Is the new Volcano Hybrid worth the money?
Over the past 20 years, Storz & Bickel has impressively demonstrated that its competitors cannot match the quality of proper German engineering. Since its introduction in 2000, the Volcano Classic has been regarded as the gold standard amongst all vaporizers and is still the first choice für serious vapers today. Now, with the release of the Volcano Hybrid, they make another run at the Nr. 1 spot.
The first follow-up device (Volcano Digit) merely presented a facelift, but the Hybrid plays in a league of its own. Whether it comes to manufacturing, vape quality, taste, heat-up time or handling, the slogan “The reinvention of an icon” is not just a marketing catchphrase, Storz & Bickel actually managed to set new benchmarks in every aspect.
Show what you got
The Volcano Hybrid looks a lot more appealing and modern than its successors. The well-known Volcano silhouette has remained, the buttons and lamps are history and a generous digital display graces the front. The display is a little bigger than on the Volcano Digit and its orange highlights give the vaporizer a stylish look. This slick design differentiates Storz & Bickel from medical devices and is the first step towards the mainstream. Nice.
Vroom, vroom, Volcano Hybrid
The name is not only reminiscent of a battery-operated American sports car, the Volcano Hybrid is actually equipped with an improved double helix heat exchanger. While the Classic took up to 6 minutes to reach the operating temperature, the Hybrid manages this feat only 40 seconds - that’s record time! The 10x faster heat-up time could be especially beneficial for medical patients.
Balloon or whip: The best of both worlds
First things first, no matter which method you choose, vaping with a Volcano is always an awesome experience - and, this time the vape tastes even better! Hit by hit, the generous filling chamber and the powerful heating element create dense vape which cools down pleasantly in the balloon or whip. The Easy Valve balloon has already achieved cult status in the vape scene and numerous users swear by the gigantic bag. With the tube you now have another way to enjoy your herbs; again, you will discover an intense herbal aroma that only a Volcano can provide. With the appropriate adapter, the whip can also be connected to a bong which cools the vape even more. A must-try.
Welcome to the digital age
Operating your Volcano from the comforts of your couch, Storz & Bickel finally made it happen. They did not cut any corners and invested thousands of hours into the development of the S&B app. The application lets you program individual heating and vape profiles and is very simple to use, designed clearly and runs smoothly on both Android and iOS. You can set how long and at how many degrees the vaporizer should operate. Depending on the medicinal herb you have to experiment with the right temperatures and duration, but as soon as you have discovered your preferred taste, you can save the profile and recall it later.
Summary: By far the best desktop vape available
Storz & Bickel did it again. Once again, the German Wunderwuzzis set new standards and the Volcano series successfully defended their throne against all other vaporizers on the market. At first, 600 Euro sounds like a lot of money, but if you consider that you are buying the best vape on the planet, from a brand with a proven track record, then it’s actually a no-brainer. The Classic reigned supreme for almost 20 years. The Hybrid only needs to make it to five for the investment to pay off.
The Volcano Hybrid is light-years ahead of its previous versions and competitors. No other vaporizer has been manufactured to such a high standard and produces such a satisfying and unmistakable vaping experience. With its refreshing design, the Volcano moves into lifestyle territory and it’s finally a gadget that you want your friends to know about. Show off with it and share the joy. Same as you would with an expensive Nespresso machine. Great job, Storz & Bickel!
