Big Bud, an old-school strain and heavyweight

Growth characteristics of Big Bud Feminized

Big Bud Feminized cannabis seeds are predominantly Indica, with a percentage of 85%. This dominance is reflected in the plant structure and high yield, accompanied by an intense, relaxing high. Sensi Seeds crossed the original Big Bud from the 1980s with Skunk #1 and Northern Lights. The result is a robust, Skunk-like plant with impressive yields.

This strain is available in feminized form, meaning the likelihood of male plants is low, making it easier to grow. Big Bud has a relatively short flowering time of around 50 to 65 days, making it a good option for fast results. When grown outdoors, it is advisable to harvest between mid- and late October.

  • Indoors, Big Bud Feminized tends to remain compact, reaching heights of only 50 to 100 cm, depending on conditions.
  • Outdoors, however, the plants can grow to a height of 2 to 2.25 meters.

They are relatively slender and have fewer leaves than other varieties. Most notable are the large, dense, and heavy buds, which usually form around the central stem. It's common for the branches to sag under their weight, but this can be prevented by using guy wire or other supports.

These resin-covered buds produce impressive yields and are the main selling point of this strain. Indoor cultivation can produce harvests of around 500 to 600 grams per square meter. Outdoors, even larger yields of around 800 to 1,200 grams per plant are possible.

Big Bud Feminized seeds grow optimally in warmer regions with longer summer periods, such as those found in the Mediterranean. Alternatively, cultivation can be done indoors or in a greenhouse.

Since the majority of Big Bud's yield comes from the central stem, it's ideal for the SOG (Sea of Green) method. These plants are adaptable and can be pruned as desired. The SCROG (Screen of Green) technique also works well with this strain, and it responds positively to supercropping and lollipops.

Characteristics, Taste, and Aroma of Big Bud Feminized

The Big Bud Feminized strain is 85% Indica. This results in an intense, calming, and relaxing high. Some users also report a feeling of silliness and euphoria, which could be due to the 15% Sativa content.

During growth, the plants emit a pleasant aroma: sweet and fruity with a spicy note. This aroma becomes more noticeable after harvest, when the flowers release a molasses-like scent. Consumers will enjoy this sweet and spicy taste and aroma.
