How to proceed after your plants have arrived?

Congratulations on purchasing Bushplanet seedlings!

Here is a brief guide on how to best care for your seedlings in the first few days so that they grow well and develop optimally.

In general, the seedlings are very robust and only need a short recovery period of 1-2 days after transport. Sometimes the main stem is slightly bent, but it will straighten up on its own.

1. Potting and watering

The young plants can be potted immediately upon receipt. We recommend using lightly to moderately pre-fertilized soil, such as LightMix products from various manufacturers or, for example, Plagron GrowMix or BioBizz AllMix.

For beginners, we have ready-made sets that come with the most important components: pot, substrate, fertilizer, and root stimulator – the Bushplanet Plant Pot Set.

The volume of the pot should be between 3.5 and 14 liters, depending on the space available and the growing system.

For autoflowering plants, we recommend a pot volume of approximately 7 liters.

After potting, water the plant for the first time (lukewarm – around room temperature). 25% of the pot volume is a good guideline for soil plants. The pH value of the water should ideally be between 6.2 and 6.8.

2. Lighting

Your young plants need light right from the start and can be placed under standard grow lamps immediately.

The lighting duration per day should be at least 18 hours for the first few days. The optimum temperature is 20–28°C, with a humidity of 60–70% being ideal.

Outdoors: Depending on the temperatures, you can also place your young plants directly outdoors from mid-April to mid-August. In very strong sunlight, it is advisable to acclimatize the young plants to the sun for one to two days in partial shade.

The temperature should not fall below 5°C at any time, even at night.
